Oakville, ON – Visit Oakville welcomes former vice chair Philippa Durbin to the role of chair of its board of directors. Durbin steps into the role vacated by Golf Canada\u2019s Meggan Gardner who served as chair for two years.<\/p>\n
Kristen Thomason of iFLY Toronto will fill the role of vice chair while Gardner will continue with the board as past chair.<\/p>\n
Durbin has worked for the Holiday Inn Oakville Centre for eight years as Director of Sales and Marketing. She has been an invaluable member of the Visit Oakville board since 2012 where she has taken leadership roles in the hotel committee and the visitor services committee.<\/p>\n
A long-time Oakville resident, Durbin is active on a number of boards and volunteer committees including the Oakville Chamber of Commerce golf committee (2016-present) and the Oakville Gymnastics Club as meet director (2015-present). She will continue to support and promote the town as a tourist destination.<\/p>\n
Ward 2 councillor Ray Chisholm will be leaving the board after five years of service in chair, vice chair and past chair capacities. Moving forward, he will continue to assist the board in governance review as a non-voting member.<\/p>\n
Visit Oakville also welcomes two new members to the board, Karen Chisholm of Sheridan Conference Services and Daniel Schmid of Homewood Suites. Chisholm and Schmid have been part of Oakville\u2019s hospitality sector for many years and will bring a fresh new perspective to their duties as board members.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
