Grab your binoculars and your camera, and follow along with this one-day itinerary that will keep your eye in the sky. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Birding at Bronte Creek<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Pick up a coffee and pastry to go at Oakville\u2019s Best Caf\u00e9 Talk of the Town Award-winner<\/a> Vereda Central<\/a> before taking off to Bronte Creek Provincial Park. <\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

You\u2019ll spend your morning exploring the trails and looking for over\u00a0190 different species of bird\u00a0that call this park home.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Birds to watch for: Pileated woodpecker, turkey vulture, Baltimore Oriole, Red-tailed hawk, killdeer, eastern bluebird, bobolink, snow bunting and various types of owl. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Waterfowl watch by the lake<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Make a pit stop in\u00a0Bronte Village<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0next, and pick up food at Zara\u2019s on Wheels\u00a0<\/a>for an impromptu picnic in the park.\u00a0Bronte Heritage Waterfront Park and Bronte Beach Park<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0are perfect locations to lay down a blanket, enjoy a quick bite by the lake.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Take time to look out for new species of bird by Bronte Harbour, as it is known to host a variety of waterfowl. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Birds to watch for: Canada goose, ring-billed gull, Bonaparte\u2019s gull, common tern, mute swan, red-necked grebe, double-crested cormorant, ospreys, sandpipers, snowy owls and blue jays. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Picnic with parkland birds<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Looking for a little more before picking up dinner? Try walking through Shell Park<\/a> or Village Wood Park for a look at some woodland birds. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Birds to watch for: Songbirds, owls and woodpeckers. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Make your way to Downtown Oakville<\/a> at the end of the day and opt for a sunset picnic by the lake or a takeaway dinner to bring home. Before you leave, take one last look through the Oakville Harbour area for any signs of the waterfowl you might have missed at Bronte Harbour. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
