It\u2019s Women\u2019s History Month and we\u2019re celebrating by highlighting some of Oakville\u2019s incredible women-owned businesses! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today, we\u2019re taking a look at Yellow Door Studio, a fully licensed nail studio and lounge bar in Downtown Oakville that is owned by sisters Violet Jameson and Anna Huh. Burnt out after beating her breast cancer while completing her MBA, Violet decided to leave her career on Bay Street after 20 years and pursue her dream of being an entrepreneur. One ritual that was constant during her career was to get her nails done every two weeks, though it was never a relaxing or enjoyable experience. So she decided to open Yellow Door Studio – a self-care studio focusing on client experience where getting your nails done is much more than just a chore. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yellow Door Studio is a place of gathering where you can reconnect with the ones you love, treat yourself to a little rest and relaxation, and even host events. With a service list that includes manicures, pedicures, facials, waxing, threading and brow\/lash treatments, you could spend a whole day indulging in self-care. Yellow Door Studio also provides treatments for men and children, as well as access to a licensed Naturopathic Doctor who has a focus in women\u2019s health.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Q: Why did you start your business?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A: I always had a dream to start my own business but did not find the right timing. After working on Bay Street for over 20 years, I finally had enough so I left. I took a year off travelling here and there, and the idea of opening a chic, artfully decorated nail salon where you can enjoy a glass of wine just popped in my head like a light bulb. And the name to go with it \u2013 yellow door.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Q: What\u2019s a fun fact about your business that people might not know?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A: We once hosted a 80\u2019s dance party with a DJ,  costume and everything! We love taking on new and exciting events that bring fun elements like this. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Q: What\u2019s the most popular treatment at your salon?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A: Our cloud nine pedi, for sure! This service includes a soak, full cuticle work, nail shaping and buffing, callous work, scrub, massage, hot towel wrap and polish. Pedicure services tend to see more popularity in summer in other nail salons, but for us it\u2019s the most popular service all year around. It is a great service where people can enjoy a glass bubbly and catch up with their bffs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Q: What\u2019s a treatment people might sleep on but definitely need to try?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A: The Revival Pedi and Mani. It is truly an indulgent experience that includes soaking in warm water infused in essential oils, moisture locking hand\/foot mask and the most relaxing shoulder and neck massage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Q: What does the perfect day of pampering look like for someone visiting Yellow Door Studio?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A: Step inside of a beautiful space and smell our bespoke aroma with a hint of lemon, cedar wood and white musk- warm and spicy scent to make you feel welcome. Get settled in a comfortable pedi chair. Instead of a rushed pedi service, our technician will take the time to truly pamper you while you enjoy a chilled glass of bubbly, listen to our soulful Billie Holiday playlist and shut out the noise of your hectic life.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A: Downtown Oakville has everything. Well-curated boutiques and stores, renowned restaurants, and a gorgeous waterfront. You feel like a tourist when you visit Oakville \u2013 a small town by the water but with sophisticated shops and restaurants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Q: Where do you recommend people go after they\u2019ve been perfectly pampered at Yellow Door Studio?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
